To unobtrusively capture on videotape the sights, sounds, and emotions of the most important religious ceremony between a man and a woman.
Background
JM Video Productions began as The J.M. Network when I was only fourteen years old. At that time, I filmed with a Kodak Brownie 8mm silent movie camera to capture the sights (no sounds) of skits in our neighborhood. I used my initials J.M. simply because my siblings Julie and Jason also had the same initials.
Jason was fifteen when he talked our dad into buying a BetaMovie camcorder. Wow! Our scripts could now include narration, dialogue, music, and sound effects!
I was busy with college and Jason was gaining camcorder experience by producing his Senior video year book and assisting on wedding shoots. He took our initials to new heights when he created JM Productions. I will always be indebted to him for this.
Jason and I are now applying what we learned in college and the corporate world to JM Video Productions. The highlight of our wedding video experience came last year when our sister, Julie, was married; we ushered our mom down the aisle and then proceeded to our video camcorders. Of course, I had to write a couple of scripts to be acted out that day! Julie and her husband plan on joining us in the wedding business someday as disc jockeys...
Philosophy
There are three parts to a successful wedding video:
1) TAPING 2) EDITING 3) CUSTOMER SERVICE
TAPING
To provide the best footage, we feel that attending the Rehearsal is very important. At the Rehearsal, we will meet with the officiating clergy to decide on camera location(s), watch the positioning of the bridal party, check electrical outlets, and meet the bridal party and family members.
On the wedding day, we will bring professionalism to your video with the use of:
Tripod
Wireless microphone for incredible vow/ring exchange clarity
Advanced camcorder techniques
Camera-mounted 10 watt light for low light receptions
Sony Digital camcorders featuring miniDV and 3 chip design, excellent for color brillance and clarity.
EDITING
The word editing scares many brides. Through experience, we know not to cut out the 1st dance - just kidding! Our editing simply smooths over the footage to make it more enjoyable to watch. The addition of music, titles, credits, and a "highlights" segment add to the production value. We now offer a "Quickview" Format which is a fast-paced, greatly edited and entertaining wedding video, which comes with the uncut footage.
CUSTOMER SERVICE
We realize that it's the bride and groom's special day that they have been planning for so long. They call the shots! Our job is to listen to the couple when they give us information or when they have special requests (e.g. taping interviews of certain people). Our job is to remain in the background while taping beautiful closeups of the bride. Our job is to produce an emotional, documentary-style wedding video that will be viewed often.
